I know most students take their one PE credit they need to graduate and then stop. I believe that there are advantages to continuing with PE throughout your high school career.

For example, taking higher-level physical education (PE) classes or PE electives can significantly enhance your overall well-being and provide benefits beyond fulfilling a basic credit requirement. These advanced courses often focus on specific activities like yoga, weightlifting, or team sports, allowing you to explore areas of interest while staying active. They also promote lifelong fitness habits, help reduce stress, and improve mental health through regular physical activity.

Additionally, participating in diverse PE electives can teach valuable skills such as teamwork, discipline, and goal setting, which are transferable to other aspects of life.

If you are thinking of pursuing a degree that involves sports like Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, or even Sports medicine, having higher level PE credits may help you get into those competitive programs.

Rather than stopping at the minimum credit, pursuing PE electives can enrich your academic experience and help you build a foundation for a healthier lifestyle.
